iOS 14 is the fourteenth and current major release of the iOS mobile operating system developed by Apple Inc. for their iPhone and iPod Touch lines. Announced at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference on June 22, 2020 as the successor to iOS 13. iOS 14 was released on September 16, 2020.

App Library
App Library on the Home Screen, Automatic categorization, Users can choose how many Home Screen pages to display and easily hide pages for quicker access to the App Library.
Compact Calls UI
New space-saving measures mean incoming phone calls, Third-party VoIP calls, FaceTime calls and Siri requests no longer take over the entire screen. Phone calls (and FaceTime/VoIP calls) show up in a small banner on the iPhone’s display, while activating Siri shows a small animated Siri icon at the bottom of the screen.
Picture in Picture
With Picture-in-Picture support, iPhone users can now watch a video or take a FaceTime call while using another app.

App Clips
Apple added App Clips to iOS 14, letting users take advantage of some app features without needing to download the full app. App Clips can let you do things like rent a scooter, purchase a coffee, make a restaurant reservation, or fill a parking meter just by scanning a code, with no need to download a full app.
Messages
- Pinned conversations: Pin up to nine of your most important conversations to the top of your conversation list, so you can easily get to them. You can have up to nine pinned conversations that sync across Messages
- Mentions: Direct a message to an individual in a group conversation by typing the person’s name.
- Inline replies: You can reply directly to a specific message in a group conversation. See all related messages in their own view with highlights.
- Set Group photo: Give your group conversation a visual identity by adding a photo or Memoji, or choose an emoji.
- There are Lot’s of New Memoji styles and stickers with different faces, hair styles according to different personality
Maps
- Cycling : Maps now routes cyclists along bike lanes, bike paths, and bike-friendly roads.
- Electric vehicle routing: Easily plan trips with your electric vehicle. Maps automatically adds charging stops along your route and even accounts for charging time when calculating the ETA. Maps can keep track of things like the current charge and charger type to give you the best route for your vehicle
- Congestion zones: Major cities like London and Paris have congestion zones to help reduce traffic in dense areas.
- New map available in more countries, Refine location Quickly get a highly accurate location and orientation when you’re in urban areas with poor GPS signals.
Siri
- Siri has all new Compact Design UI
- Expanded knowledge: Siri Comes with 20x more facts than just three years ago
- Web answers : Siri can now help you find answers to a broader set of questions using information from across the internet, so you can get answers without having to browse the web
